01

Overview

Galaxy Shutter Sound (package name com.nuts.galaxyshutter, developed by Nuts, "the App") is a utility that toggles the camera shutter sound forced on by carrier/manufacturer policy, entirely on your own device via Wireless Debugging (ADB). This page explains how the App handles information.

The App does not operate any server. Everything the App does happens locally, on your device.

02

Information we collect

The App does not collect any personal information — no name, email address, location, or device identifiers. It contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK that would send data off the device. No account or sign-in is required.
03

Permissions and why we use them

Every permission the App requests exists solely to support its two core functions: talking to ADB on this device, and showing a notification.

PermissionPurpose
INTERNETWireless debugging (ADB) is local to this device, but Android requires this permission for any socket connection, local or remote. It is never used to reach an external server.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
Used only to show whether this device is currently connected to Wi-Fi.
CHANGE_WIFI_STATERequired by Android's rules for the background service described below; the App never changes your Wi-Fi settings.
POST_NOTIFICATIONSShows the notification that lets you enter a pairing code without leaving the system Settings screen.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE
Keeps the pairing/connection process running reliably in the background.

The App also checks whether Samsung's "Auto Blocker" feature is present on your device, by querying whether its package (com.samsung.android.rampart) is installed. This check reveals no personal information.

04

Data stored on your device

On first launch, the App generates an RSA key pair and self-signed certificate used solely for ADB authentication. These are stored only in the App's private storage and are never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the App deletes them.

Values you type into the app, such as an IP address or port, may be kept locally for convenience on your next visit, but are never sent off the device.

05

Scope of network use

The only endpoint the App ever communicates with is the ADB daemon on this same device, over loopback or your local Wi-Fi network. It never contacts a server operated by the developer or any other party.

06

Third-party sharing

The App does not share, sell, or otherwise disclose any information to third parties. As described above, it collects no personal information to begin with.

07

Children's use

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

08

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect legal requirements or new App features. Any revision updates the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and material changes may also be announced inside the App.
